If You Don't Know, Now You Know...

Could He Have Been More Explicit?!

Just when it really starts to sink in that this miracle is definitely going to happen -- not just when it happens at the very moment of birth, but how it happens for mommy, daddy and baby a little bit every day over the course of 10 months -- new things come to light (see "BOY" in picture). We went in knowing that we could know the sex, and we realized the little one might be shy. Needless to say, we saw what we needed to see in order to determine a little more about the bundle of joy coming our way.

Still Getting Sleep, Thus Still Smiling

Week 29...77 days til the due date!

Lea and Joshua are so excited to become parents they can hardly keep from smiling. Joshua has tried to live up to the expectations of a good husband, e.g., showing a little empathy by showcasing his own buddha (see picture, again). Lea, for her part, has waded gently into the waters of motherhood -- with preggy yoga and neighborhood walks, and Jacob's arrival will be our baptism into parenthood.

Besides reading books like Rookie Dad and Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy, they decided to get a head-start on a few of the many firsts as a family: first Punahou Carnival, first whale-watching trip to Maui, first snorkel-session with turtles, etc.

Who Knew? They Did.

Living and Loving in the Moment

Joshua and Lea feel truly blessed to have each other. They are a good match for one another -- like sunshine and tropical smoothies (see picture). Having said that, they knew from each other that it would not be long before they would want to grow their family. So they made the most of their short season without children by traveling the globe and spending a lot of quality time together in their cozy little home -- like sitting down to home-cooked meals: "table for two Mrs. Almanza?" "Why, thank you Mr. Almanza."
